Editors' note

Our first issue of 2021 comes as (some) of our writers and editors return to their respective school buildings after disruption due to the coronavirus pandemic; however, if you thought this would stop the Global team, you'd be wrong.

An onslaught of new writers, alongside some old faces, have produced a range of outstanding articles, all on the theme of adaptability. The theme for this issue could not be more relevant. We've all had to adapt with the everchanging pandemic. In London, January bought a return to online schooling, while in Jeju, the school adopted a two-thirds campus capacity arrangement and abiding by social distancing regulation. Dubai saw a return back to school with masks and extra sanitation, while Singapore continued with their socially distanced and covid restricted schooling, having been put in place since August, when school resumed.

Our writers have not disappointed, with articles ranging from the history of Indo-European languages, to our reliance on technology. With this issues, we hope that all readers can see how each of the sister schools and NLCS students across the globe are adapting.

We are over the moon that NLCS Singapore has joined the Global team for the first time this issue, and we are so excited to continue this collaboration.

We hope you enjoy reading this issue!
